Personal Biography

To Wing King (BT To), the Bachelor of Music Studies, Year 4 student in The Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), the student of Sophia Woo who is the percussionist of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. She learnt percussion since 13 years old and got the distinction (137) of ABRSM grade 8 percussion at 2009. She is the member of Baptist University Percussion Ensemble and Hong Kong Symphonic Winds (HKSW).

 

She was been to the overseas such as Macau, Taiwan, Holland to join the percussion festivals and the Winds Band competitions. In 2012, she went to Tai Wan to join the Tai Wan percussion festival. In 2013, she has joined the ‘World Music Competition’ with HKSW, got the gold award and she was invited by Macau Percussion Association to be the guest performer at the Macau Music Festival 2013. Also, she joined the Disney Winter Band Festival in 2013 and 2014, both got the gold award in open class too. She was invited by TVB to be the guest performer of the press conference,’ Vino Veritas’ in 2014. In 2015 summer, she was on behalf of HKSW's percussionist, invited by the Macau Band Director Association to join the Macau Band Fair 2015.

 

In 2015, she cooperated with 3 other percussionists who also graduated from HKBU to organize an active percussion ensemble, 'Bombak'. They aimed at using the reusable daily material such as chopsticks, glass bottle, rubbish bin and other daily material to arrange the rhythmic percussion pieces. Recently, they invited by Environmental Protection Department as the guest performers to join the green event,' Click, Drink, Then recycle' for advertising the green message and the importance of recycling the glass bottle to the public.

Wong Cho Yee Joey started learning percussion under the tutelage of Ms. Mandy Lo in secondary school with school band training at the age of 12. Joey graduated form Hong Kong Baptist University with the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music Studies. She studied percussion with Ms. Sophia Woo. 

 

Joey is passionated in ensemble music, she performed in many orchestra and ensemble. She had been appointed as the percussionist of Hong Kong Performers Winds, Musicphilic Winds, Hong Kong Baptist University Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Baptist University Percussion ensemble, Hong Kong Baptist University Wind Symphony and Hong Kong Symphonic Winds. She was invited to be a guest percussion soloist in Hong Kong Baptist University Percussion Ensemble annual concert 2014.

 

From 2008 to 2010, Joey touring with secondary school band to Taiwan and Macau to attend the Asia Pacific Band Festival. In 2013, she touring with Hong Kong Baptist University Percussion Ensemble to Macau exchanged and performed with local percussionists. Joey also participated the World Music Contest with Hong Kong Symphonic Winds in Holland.

Cheuk Tsz Leung, Eccles, was graduated in Hong Kong Baptist University with the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music Studies. He is an educator who devotes himself to percussion education. He is an experienced percussion tutor has been teaching in the field for more than 5 years in various schools and music centre as well as his private percussion studio. He organizes percussion classes, workshops and music foundation courses to cultivate the young generation of musicians from the age of 4 to 20. With the perspective of putting the students first, Cheuk takes into account that every student faces different obstacles in learning and uses different approaches depending on the needs of individuals of students. He also emphasizes the uniqueness of students and helps his students to develop their own strength.
 
Cheuk is an active percussionist who helps promote percussion music in Hong Kong. He is one of the founders of local percussion group Bombak, which organized innovative performance cooperating with organizations including Hong Kong Home Affairs Department and Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department. He is also an orchestral percussionist performs with the local orchestras including Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra, Ponte Singer Orchestra and HKBU Symphony Orchestra.

Wu Tin Lap, graduated from The Hong Kong Baptist University, Bachelor Of Art in Music which concentrated in composition. Wu learnt percussion since primary school with Ms Choi Suk Fan and later learnt with Dr. Lung Heung Wing and James Bozons. He also learnt drumset with Mr Leung Yiu Wai and learnt Chinese percussion with Ms Ho Yi On.

 

Wu was the percussionist of Hong Kong Baptist University Symphony Orchestra and Hong Kong Baptist University Percussion Ensemble since 2010 to 2014. In 2013, he toured with the orchestra and ensemble to China and  Macau to be the guest performer. In 2014, he toured with orchestra to New York. During studying the Bachelor program of electronic music, his piece got into the final round of New Generation Competition 2014. Also, its world premiere performed in RTHK studio and also performed in Cultrual Centre by Baptist University Ensemble. 

 

In 2015,  Wu invited by the electronic game producer of 'Infinite Core' to produce the soundtrack of the game. More, he invited by department of communication of Hong Kong Poly University to compose soundtrack of their graduation honor project. 

 

Wu is activing in the percussion ensemble group, '4 Gig Heads' which toured with the group to Turkey and Macau. Also, he is the drummer of the  famous local band, 'De Tesla' which performed in City Hall, Sha Tin Concert Hall, Kwung Tsing Theatre and so on.  Recently, he grouped as the member of Bom Bak which aimed at using different daily materials for percussion ensemble.
